THE CHAMBER ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF 2007 PINNACLE AWARDS

Eight Women to be Honored for Achievements in Business and Management at January 25th Luncheon

Boston, Mass. (December 1, 2006) – The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce today announced the winners of its 2007 Pinnacle Awards. Honoring the accomplishments of eight women in Greater Boston who have achieved excellence in business and management, the Pinnacle Awards will take place on January 25, at the Westin Copley Place Boston. The awards luncheon will feature Lisa Hughes, anchor at WBZ-TV, as the master of ceremonies.

This year’s honorees will be recognized for their accomplishments in the following categories:

Achievement in Entrepreneurship: Anne Bailey Berman, president and CEO, Chadwick Martin Bailey;

Achievement in Management, Private Sector: Joanne Jaxtimer, SVP, director of corporate affairs, Mellon Financial Corporation;

Achievement in Management, Government: Stephanie Lovell, first assistant Attorney General, Commonwealth of Massachusetts;

Achievement in Management, Non-Profit: Sandra Fenwick, chief operating officer, Children’s Hospital Boston;

Achievement in the Professions: Michele Whitham, co-managing partner, Foley Hoag LLP;

Achievement in Arts & Education: Marita Rivero, VP & general manager, WGBH;

Emerging Executive: Melissa Palmer, senior manager, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP; and

Lifetime Achievement: Swanee Hunt, president, Hunt Alternatives Fund.

“This year’s Pinnacle Awards recipients are nothing short of remarkable,” said Paul Guzzi, president and CEO of the Greater Boston Chamber. “They are leaders in their respective fields, they are leaders in the community, and their achievements in business are matched only by their civic contributions. The Greater Boston business community is proud to honor them.”
